Sussex Interclub HFT 2019 - Round 9 results

Penultimate round of the 2019 SIHFT completed – just one to go.

Big thanks and respect are due to the very small and special crew at Horsham for hosting the round and putting out a challenging course, but quite clearly overlooked the need to install artificial lighting for 50% of the lanes Decidedly dark in places and not helped in my case by glasses which, in the very humid woods, kept steaming up, usually at the moment I decided there was a lack of 45 yards blur, but then rethinking it.

The weather tried to play ball, staying dry until a little after the half way point, but a grot way to finish for those in the field when it chucked it down and the wind doubled in strength and got even more blustery. I was fortunate to be on lane 10 when this started, but it certainly made the two woods-to-field ‘corner’ lanes (11 and 12) interesting.

Two ‘super’ results, with Kev C and Dibbens sharing the 100%, closely followed by Mr Theydon and a trio of 56s. And another amazing result from SIHFT’s own king of the spring – Pat. Great shooting guys

Happy shooting wherever you are until the final competitive SIHFT Round at Buxted in 2 weeks’ time on Sunday 6th October. Only one known event taking place between now and then – the final round of the Mile Oak Summer HFT series on 29/9.

Should you be aware of any other events of interest, please let us know.

Beyond that, we look forward to the SIHFT 2019 Grand Finale, which will be hosted by Swallows FTC on Sunday 27th October. The extra week's gap after Round 10 gives us just enough time to get the engraving done for the trophies.

Brilliant course Horsham, thank you. My first half decent SIHFT score for a good couple of years, shooting in the dark must suit me.
