    Running Boar

    Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has one of the old Stiga running boar target systems that they might want to sell to a good home?

    It would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Thanks for that. But I’m looking for a target to shoot the actual discipline, ie can hold the paper targets, dual speed etc

A chap brought the Gamo one to a range I was on.
    It was a Christmas present.
12 shooters opened fire and it ceased to function.
    Sad.

We had to make our own Running Boar target equipment which is two speed and on wheels to enable mobile use on our indoor range, Luckily, one of our more talented engineer members shoots in regular competitions at Bisley and wanted to use it for indoor training. A great bit of kit that provides a bit of relief from static target shooting.

Thats why I was after the Stiga, I think it was Stiga, made model.

Did everything required in a reasonably portable size for reasonable money.

The best running target set ups I have seen in the UK tended to be scratch built by enthusiasts with an engineering background. Commonly available commercial types seen in the UK seem to be too flimsy for extensive use. . Commercially made one's I have seen in Germany look strong though and doubtless could be imported.

I've seen videos of these and they look great. I know there will be variables when buying one (length of track etc.) but could you give me an idea of the cost of one? If it's not eye watering I might tender a proposal for my club to buy one.

    Cheers

You've missed one by a month at auction in Ostersund(Sweden), sold for about 200 pounds.
Very nice area down there up in the mountains and they have an airport.

    There are these apparently.

You can keep an eye out on blocket.se for the stiga, they appear there every now again.

Out of interest, here are a few pictures of the Running Boar equipment constructed by one of the more talented members of my club.
It's two speed mains powered and on castors to allow it to be stowed at the back of the range when not in use.
Great fun, but also invaluable for anybody wishing to practice for more serious competition.
