I acquired a thousand in assorted boxes of 224 bullets at auction for about 5p each which gave me the opportunity to experiment very cheaply. Good brands as well. I’ve settled on 55gn sierra as I got a thousand of them as well.

My 223 owning mate had most of the heavier ones and some are part boxes. Maybe I'll do some sample bags of five each or so of different types like they used to do with airgun pellets.

    222 loads

I and several mates with 222’s all use Viht N130 with 40 (vmax/blitzkings) 50 (vmax/blitzkings) and 55 (gameking/Hornady SPWC) bullets. None of us could get 53 or 55 vmax to stabilise in out standard 1-14 twist 222’s. Between us we have 2x remmy 700 1x CZ 527 1x HW66 and a Tikka M55 (the best one by far). I tried N133 but didn’t like it.

My 222 go to fox and long range bunny load is 22.7 grains N130 with a 40 vmax
For roe north of the border I use 20.6 grains N130 with a 55 grain Hornady SPWC bullet #2266

    Regards Rick
It's not my faulty, I was just.....
