Very sorry to hear of John's demise.Over the years I had the pleasure of talking to John at Markyate and trying some of his air guns when I spent a day at his house with a view to buying one of his earlier guns,( and trying some of his moonshine), something I eventually didn't do and regretted it. I did shoot in a team with John, myself and I believe Ken Turner and Jim Tyler. The name eludes me but it might have been the old codgers. As this year wears on more club members and friends are being lost when least expected,I'm truly sorry that John was one of them.I will always see the picture of john on the firing line doing FT in a dip of the ground on his knees both hands in the air and covered in thick runny mud!
