Just sent my subs off for the spring & summer league
Thanks Russ!
Its certainly taking this superb shooting discipline a long time to get started in the UK - especially as it has been the biggest growth area of any target shooting sport in Germany for several years already!
Lets hope we get a few more entries this season - it is certainly a good discipline to give a try, and balancing a hard flat under-surface of a rifle on a tangential point of a hard cylinder (maximum diameter 50mm) is nothing like as easy as it sounds.
The bar is hard and slippery and stopping the rifle moving is a genuine challenge and is nothing like as "comfortable or secure" as shooting from a soft compliant shooting bag would be.
Any air rifle can be used in the SAR series and any air pistol can be used in the SAP series (where the pistol is rested on the underside of the grip only and remains a single handed discipline).
It is easy to make up a bar (a piece of scaffolding pole would be more than good enough - it just has to be the chopped to length - and you are away!).

Good Luck to all taking part

Good to see the new 10 meter competition for spring powered (non recoilless) air rifles beginning to attract some interest - it should be good fun - and just a little different to anything we have done before!

My targets have arrived, many thanks
I think I'll have a go at the 10m scoped as well as the 6yd rifle.
Just shot my January cards, for the 6yd comp, not a great start, but new rifle so hopefully i will get better.

I have had some recent new interest from those who are considering entering the 6 yard "shoot from home" MPL competitions whilst being on "shut-down" and having their local shooting clubs closed.
So, I am elevating this thread to make it easy to find and see and hope it helps to encourage a few more to get their tenners paid and their entries in to Russ (PhatMan) so we can get some target packs out to you so you can start shooting from home as soon as possible.
Spare targets can be bought from the NSRA.
We use AIR 7. (6 yard air rifle targets) and AIR 8. (6 yards air pistol targets).
We look forward to having you join us - just as soon as you like
