I have a VT-2 3-12x44 SFIR which I bought from a UK retailer. Nice crisp optics, nice controls (although a little stiff to start with) and an excellent fine half mildot reticle (though it may be too fine for some).
Optics are sharp and clear. It came with flip up covers, sun shade, and mounts. In terms of overall diameter the objective end of the scope is the same as a Nikko Mountmaster 3-9x40 even though it's a 44 objective lens.
One thing some may not like is the entire reticle illuminates not just the central portion though that doesn't bother me.
I'm very happy with mine and would buy another Discovery scope quite happily. I have my eye on a compact 3-12x44 FFP Discovery HD at the moment....

I purchased a Discovery VT-R 4- 16x40 a fixed focus job direct from the RoC. Its not a patch on other RoC scopes I have, the lenses are fuzzy at their edges and the turrets are crap. Normally I buy Visionking, Vector Optics or Canis Latrans, however, I wanted that particular spec which none of the others did at that time so you live and learn the hard way.

I "discovered" Discovery scopes a few years ago after some fairly disappointing experiences with the quality of Hawkes.
The glass is good, the images are sharp, and they are reliable.
My favourite is/was their flagship model 5-30×56 FFP with HD lenses. These scopes are simply superb... BUT Discovery changed the design of this model in May 2021, and the new ones are horrid.
It seems they took a close look at everything which was good about this scope, and went on a quest to make it bad.
If anyone knows where an old one can be found, please let me know.
