Ok, it's not a break barrel but that will not be commercially viable so we will have to get over it and move on.

I watched the first couple of minutes and saw plenty of the rifle to be able to tell that if FT was my thing it looks v.nice. (and that I probably can't afford one &#128513

So I applaud a British company for producing a fine looking rifle that if it shoots anywhere near as good as it looks should be excellent. I wish them every sales success in domestic and export markets. Well done Air Arms!

I’m surprised that they didn’t bring out a new flagship HFT rig - surely that would be a larger target audience. Or will one be developed off the back of this one?

And, don't worry there'll be an HFT version along as well.

    And an Alutec version.

And all the major components available separately, action only if you want.

I will wait for a year until they get the customer to sort out any teething and development problems.

I emailed Air Arms owner Claire West at Air Arms earlier this evening with some of the questions that are being asked across the 3 main shooting forums.

Claire is over in L.A. at the Shot Show but still managed to get back to me in just over an hour – what a star!

The questions & answers are below exactly as asked/answered.

Will the stock be re-designed for the HFT version? CHANGES WILL BE MADE TO THE STOCK, TO ENSURE IT IS COMPATIBLE FOR THE HFT DISCIPLINE.

Will an alutec style stock be offered? YES, BUT NOT UNTIL NEXT YEAR.

Will there be an option to buy an action on its own? YES

When is the FT version expected to go into production & be released? NOT YET KNOWN. WE ARE STILL UNDERTAKING PROTOTYPE TESTING. IF ALL GOES TO PLAN IT WILL HOPEFULLY BE LATER THIS YEAR.

What are the expected RRP's expected to be for each version? NOT YET KNOWN BUT WE EXPECT IT TO BE IN THE REGION OF £2k plus.

Can I have an HFT version to field test - I would need it for at least 15 years to be thorough? LOL, THE ACTIONS WILL BE THE SAME FOR HFT AND FT, WHICH ARE CURRENTLY BEING FIELD TESTED AS WE SPEAK.

Well, the answer to the last question wasn’t no but I’ll not hold my breath!

This is a near thing to that, my HFT500 with a Sure Shot stock, carbon fibre shrouded barrel and one of my air strippers. Just as accurate as my Steyr LG110:-

Nope, still under wraps, it's rumoured that it will be launched at the Gun Show in February, however, I'm not committing to 2023

TBH the fact that it's not yet released may well mean AA are wanting all the niggles sorted before release. I remember the FTP900 release and the hundreds of issues that were fed back to AA, my mate personally had to return 4 FTP900s for defects. I think it's good that AA aren't using paying customers to locate R&D issues like before.

Couple of the wafta boys using them are now putting in top scores with them so must be happy with it. Release date must be imminent.
