Pellets for highest power in an AA S200?

    Afternoon all,

My lockdown tinkering today was to do a full shot string on my second-hand AA S 200. I knew the power would not be high as I was getting lots of useable shots. It was averaging 10ftlb with JSB exact. Now before I tinker with the hammer spring tension and venturi screw I thought I had better test the power with a few other pellets but which t try??

Therefore I ask S200 owners past and present what they found gave the highest power in theirs so I can order some in to test with. Was it heavier pellets like bismags?

    Cheers Rich.

Try Bisley Magnums or JSB heavies. Or any pellet weighing over 10 grains.
    Cheers

    10.3gn JSB

JSB Heavies give the highest legal power in mine.
S400 and S200T..but arent the most accurate.

Ok, thanks. Not worried about accuracy, just don't want to up the power with exacts and find I am over with heavies.

If you've a pre-tamper one, just find the most accurate pellet and adjust the power to suit the pellet.

Check with a few others that you haven't gone over the limit though.

I want to get it to about 11 with a good quality, accurate mid-weight pellet but without going over with other ammo.

Shouldn't be a problem using either the adjuster or the hammer spring...

Checking it doesn't go over is down to to you and is easy enough if you have a chrono.

I found some RWS supermags @ 9.3 grains, gave pretty much the same power as the exacts.

    they are harder lead.

JSB heavies use the same softer JSB lead as their lighter offerings, so often given high power than similar heavy pellets.

By way of an update our illustrious sponsor has just delivered my latest order which included a JSB diablo testing tin (50 each of 7 different usb pellets). Usual impeccable service BTW

    Heavies gave about 10.5/6
    Monsters gave about 10.8/9

I also got some barracuda FT which I will also try. But so far it looks like the monsters will be my "check it stays legal" pellet of choice.
