    BB Blowback Pistol

    Afternoon
Trying to keep the child entertained and have decided to introduce him to target shooting with a BB gun. I am looking to purchase a co2 blowback bb pistol but do not have a clue who the best manufacturer's are or the best model's to go for. Budget is >£150, any help or advice would be much appreciated.
    Thanks
    George

I asked a similar question and there seems to be a lot of love for the gamo pt-85 and the KWC made colt 1911 (sold as remington, tanfoglio, Swiss arms). The 1911 I'd field strippable too which adds to the realism. They both have blowback and are quite heavy.

Depends on the age of the child.

A semi auto steel bb pistol is not a wise choice for a youngster.
Something single shot a better idea.

Wise words, can always be one last round left in mag. Pity they don't make something like the old Ampell Acro 1, ideal training CO2 pistol. Probably a bog standard Crosman 2240 would be better.

I would have to agree with the above posts, I have several CO2 blow back pistols and they are all prone to jamming with BBs due to the blow back mechanisms and the inconsistency of BB shape. I am an experienced pistol shooter but the closest I've ever come to an accident has been with a BB blow back gun.

In my opinion, you're best starting with a single shot pistol where you have complete control over each shot. The semi auto action of these can reduce your ability to step in and control the shooting.

Try and get a 6 year old boys finger off the trigger of a full auto 6mm spring and battery Airsoft Tommy gun with a 1000 round mag.

    Hi Guys
Thanks for all the feedback, very helpful.
The boy is only 6 and after reading the above I can only imagine our garden will become a sea of bb's if I let him lose with a blowback. Am now thinking a blowback for me and a single shot for the boy. He already has a 2240 but is not ready for it yet, and I don't have a very big garden!
    thanks
    George

It is addictive to be fair.

But my grandson was on single shot mode when he flipped it to full auto causing hysteria and about 500 unaimed plastic bbs to be released into the neighbourhood

The Walther PPK seems to get good reviews, I am tempted to get one myself
