lubrication on one of those is like the Webley Senior pistols and MkII target pistols. They compress air by sealing the piston with Phospher bronze piston rings and suitable Webley No. 2 oil is commonly held to be SAE 30 motor oil. I believe one of the webley handbooks recommends either 30 or 40 weight oil and states that a loss of power can be caused by using a light oil such as 3 in 1
Multigrade & low SAPS any good?

All my olduns only see 3 in 1 oil, splash it all over, wood n all.
If I am honest, I rarely shoot the Webley Service rifle. If and when I get a vintage rifle out, it is one of these 2
