Maybe for no other reason than I'd always wanted one as a youngster but it always seemed to evade me.

Finally got one a few years ago and love it.

Many others may be as good / as worthy, but I have next to zero experience of them.

It would have to be the Webley Supermatch air rifle - the name Webley gave their PH17B and FS22 sighted air rifle before they changed their minds and called it the Supertarget instead.

The one major difference was the 2nd type trigger and sear were used rather than the later sintered type that was fitted to the Supertarget. For me, this rifle has character and performs well enough at the short distances it was intended for. It may recoil but then it is not as bulky as the typical continental match rifle and has much cleaner lines aesthetically in my opinion, not to mention excellent sights made from steel rather than alloy.

Diana 65 for me. It's (almost) everything I wish a modern recoiless springer could be as well.

Special mention to the haenel 303 super that started me off on low power/match springers. Never should have sold it

Just got an Original 75, so thats my vote, its my first recoilless springer, & being a lefty they are slightly more rare.

FWB Mod300 for me, I have two examples, one is a Mod300S, the other a Mod300S Running Boar.

I do like the Giss rifles as well but in terms of servicing I find the FWB's more user friendly.

I must confess that all the above mentioned match rifles are superb. However I would like to throw a wild card of a tuned HW30 in to the ring and see what people think. You would struggle to find a match rifle in the price range of a HW30. Can be bought fairly easy and then tune away to your hearts content. I have to thank Ian Jones for putting me on to that little gem.

My personal favorite is a 300 or a 300S.

I own Diana 35 and 50 target versions, Diana 60's, FWB 300 and 300S, Webley Supertargets, Walther LG 55 and LGV's, and a BUNCH of HW 55's. I love them all!

I had a D75 years ago. An awesome thing to shoot, but the double pistons and sliding breech made for a long and heavy receiver that I found oddly balanced. Sold it to buy my first 300S and have never regretted it.

The 55 is by far my favorite of all these for collectible variations; general shooting in the real world; and all around simple, sturdy, quality, coolness. But if I wanted to go for my best score at an actual match...it would have to be a 300S! Which got my poll vote.
