    I thought the very earliest Mk. 3's didn't have plate screwed on the side of the tap?

    There are pictures of serial number 3 and 22 if you scroll through that thread and they both have screw on plates.

    Could that be later when they got cheap in their methods? The ugly tap lever comes to mind.
