My first blog: Seeking and securing a pest control Permission...

Good morning all, my first blog is online for John Rothery Countryman's Blog...

    >> How to seek and secure Shooting Permission <<

I also recorded a wee video intro >> here <<...

There's a follow-up to this blog on its way very shortly, then another on a different topic.

But hopefully our Covid19 movement restrictions will ease further up here in Scotland ASAP, as I haven't seen my Permissions for too long. The rabbits will be ruining the paddocks and I have a new small local ratty Permission now overdue a visit.

    Cheers. Russ

Pest/Vermin control is an essential part of farming so should have been allowed from the off, as & when required by the land owner,
    & subject to travel restrictions.

It's not exactly a social activity either.

Thanks very much all, my first blog and kind-of by request, but it seems to be reasonably well-received.

BTW for those in England (I've not yet seen if this is also confirmed for Scotland yet)...

    >> Pest controller Key Worker status confirmed by UK Government <<- within limitations, obviously.

...i.e. it mentions for protecting food production (e.g. shooting rats around cereal stocks in barns), but sadly probably doesn't (yet) include shooting rabbits in paddocks to protect horses for their out-of-control burrowing.

    Cheers. Russ
