Thank you for the kind words. I can't take all the credit for what you see in the photo though. Modern kits - including those manufactured by Airfix themselves - are way, way more accurate and detailed than the ones we made as kids!

Who in their right mind would want to collect old implements called air guns, and secret them away in a dark corner of your bedrooms, caressing, lubing and polishing with vigour in a dim candle light where nobody can see you.

You're all sick. I don't have any hobbies like that.
I know, I know DEANC, tell me about it....We were forced into this dastardly pleasurable pastime due to government virus restrictions, social distancing and all that. It devastated the dogging scene, closed swinging clubs and the Thai shops are all boarded up. What else was there to do? Get a grip......

    All the best.....

Bye the way contributors, I am amazed at such diverse interests outside of our passionate love of air rifles and pistols.....

Thanks for the reply, I thought everyone had missed my odd/strange humour...… Basically I have been working through this pandemic classed as a key worker so its been funny looking at some of the stuff written on social media, with thousands bored at home, and yet I have been busier than ever at work, almost without a minute to myself. Plus we are building a house at the same time which is taking any private time up.

No I am not an NHS worker or anything as brave, I just run the HGV workshop for the local bin lorries, and you lot sat at home have been creating 40% more waste for our teams to collect.

PS. I am an engineer of some kind, so anything old, motorbikes, steel framed push bikes, lathes, cars, tractors, guns and an interest in history and ecology is my thing. I am also a fairly experienced HFT shooter although I have had the last year or so off to build our house, Oh and I have never been caught dogging either. Keep safe everyone.

Hey DEANC. ! At least we do the separation of rubbish in the recycling of things saving the council doing it....

My Myford ML10, that gets well looked after, and does numerous for me apart from air-rifles to vintage motorcycles is something I can't do without. My old Gordon spanners from the 1960's are still like new despite being well used as is my first 1/2" drive socket set by Bedford all those years ago. I know where all my tools are in the cabinets, which draw, which position....sad really, but using them, cleaning them, oiling them, leaves little time for a spot of dogging - I see you have not been caught, any tips?.

Recently I restored a Carlton Speed 10 and currently restoring a BSA ex-war department B40 single. Today. I need to 'phone Neath Gun Shop to get one of those Remington Pest Controller rifles reserved. They come recommended as a great buy by our expert P.J. on this great forum and his great features in AGW. I look forward to getting it stripped having a dabble with it.

    All the best....

Apart from shooting i am into boats, my trade or vocation if you like is boatbuilding. Two projects to complete a 1905 fast launch built by SE Saunders & a 1930's sailing dinghy.
I also have a soft spot for Morris Minors & own a 1969 pickup, its currently being rebuilt for the second time.
I have an excellent workshop with Harrison 140 lathe & Arboga mill plus a Boley toolroom lathe being rebuilt. I collect old woodworking tools & got into building & playing cigar box guitars a few years back, this has become a disease and they are now everywhere! also have two hurdy gurdies in build & an antique cello to restore.
Just as well i just retired as i got lots to do!

Although I mainly collect and shoot vintage air guns, I still shoot muzzle loading revolvers which replaced my S&W 686 revolver following the 1997 UK breech loading pistol ban.
Although collecting original examples of these American Civil War arms can be another slippery slope, I recently acquired this original Remington New Model Navy revolver dating from 1865. I also have an original Colt 1849 Pocket Model purchased some time ago which was the only original that I could afford when I had to have at least one original revolver from that era. I now have to resist the temptation of getting too deeply into another field of the seemingly never ending road that is collecting.
