    Range Reopening.

Just received the good news that the range I use is reopening from tomorrow, albeit with the necessary restrictions in place.
Iv'e booked a slot for next Friday and am looking forward to getting back to something approaching normality.
I hope other ranges around the country will also be open again soon if they haven't done so already.

Great news indeed!!! I've just got back home from my Sunday session - shooting a K31 and K11 with a set of new loads, now that Reloader 17 has been deemed carcinogenic or something, IF you eat enough of it, of course.

The sooner we wave bye-bye to Yoorup and its moronic governance, the better, but i fear that the UK has adopted much of the crap they thought vital and incorporated it into UK common law.

I blame France for most of it - s'easy to see why, if you read the excellent book 'A thousand years of annoying the French'.

    Great news.

We are trying to get ours open. Mostly outdoors and no drama with keeping to 2 metres etc, but a couple of our committee members (who do sweet fa around the club) don't want to open until "it is 100% safe".

Added to that is our Mr cautious first minister who is doing what he thinks is safe, in other words stay at home with your head under the covers, no matter what the rest of the world is doing.

Still a few of the members were down this morning deleading the 50 m range so some good news!

We reopened our outdoor range (Gloucestershire) 3 weeks ago and it's been working well - pre-book your space online to ensure numbers are limited. There hasn't been the rush we expected - some are still paranoid and, of course, our older and more infirm members are quite right to be paranoid.
The county range has also reopened this week with similar controls in place.

Going to be a while, I suspect, till we get indoor going though - except perhaps with very small numbers.

Our club has been open for the last 2 weekends... pre-booked slots only, only odd numbered lanes available, face coverings must be worn at all times on the range, no socialising..

I haven't been yet (no mask), but will do in the next couple of weeks hopefully.

We're not requiring masks. Really not necessary for us with only 3 people there, outdoors and 2m apart!

I have a schmidt rubin, (7.5 x 55) I'm using 16 grains of 2400 behind a gas checked 180 grain home cast, it's about 1/2 the power of factory stuff
im also using the same load in a mosin nagant carbine (7.62 x 54) and it makes it a plesant gun to shoot, the military surplus is bad enough but the privi partazan rounds are evil to the point that no one wanted a go after watching me been blown backwards by the recoil. I have to say the cheap Chinese muzzle brake and very thick but pad helps a lot, untill the force of the gasses been redirected by the muzzle brake shear the 2 tiny cheap Chinese bolts that hold the clamp behind the fore sight (I have a slow motion video if it on my YouTube channel, airgunnut) and no, nothing clipped the inside of the muzzle brake, I have photos to prove it
on my YouTube channel I have slow motion videos of a lot of guns going off and on a few of them you can see the bullet going doen range as a smear.
