I look on this thread every day for a good laugh, keep it up!

But now a touch of reality and sensibility!

Modern sights are now by design smaller and more compact, it aids balance in standing and vision with as little in your eye lien as possible and is better for wind judgment for those who shoot out doors. The sights on those pics are very interesting, how old are they? Would be great if there was a modern equivalent?

There is!! The Anschutz precise sight bears more than a passing resemblance to the Beeman version, more complex but there are similarities. I'm not clever enough to post pics of the Precise, it is made in Austria for Anschutz by Precise a small company specialising in superb shooting engineering. I've sent Ian an email with some pics.
The Precise is by far the best current modern sight, and is a superb piece of precision engineering, sadly it costs £450, even more sad (for our bank balance!) my wife has two of them, one on her small bore, and one on her 300 mt rifle. The adjusters are on the same plane on the side, a very cleaver design.

I'd be interested in seeing the Beeman version, its simpler than the Precise, I like simplicity, if it could be accurate enough, no back lash, fine enough adjustments, modern dovetails, perhaps a modern redesign? Could it be replicated as a modern sight?

Have Fun
