We do have a tendency to overcomplicate things these days and sometimes simple is so much better! I have a Simmons WTC 4x40 on one of my rammers, it doesn't get shot as often as it should but when it does it's oh so rewarding.

Excellent shooting! And a very nice looking scope too. I love the classic glossy finish

My collection are mostly fixed Leupold minor mags:
    2 - FX 4 x 28 RF Compact
    3 - FX 4 x 33
    2 - FX 6 x 36
    1 - FX 6 x 42
    1 - 8 x 40
    1 - VX 3.5 - 10 x 40

    And some older Burris 4 x 25 AO and 6 x 25 AO
They are all in frequently use

Wish I could. Problem is, I am unable to find a good one that is rated for a FAC HW 80K.

I'd be just as happy, if not happier, with a fixed 2.5x. Used an old Lyman Alaska/n on a pre-64 Mod. 70 Winchester back in 2003 and fell in love with it.

I much prefer wider FOVs to higher mags.

    Excellent shooting, Craig!

Thanks for all the replies, some lovely sounding and looking kit you’re all using.
I’ve got another rifle to nail together and then a plinking session lined up for early next week, just have to get the garden sorted first. Will update the post in a few days.
    Thanks again all, Craig

I do like a nice simple scope - especially on this set up.

This is an old Hawke Sport 4x32 ao on a Beeman C1 .22 - it's got a single stage trigger and no safety. That, with the straight stock (I think) makes it better for taking a quickly aimed shot.
The little scope and the duplex reticle really helps.

It's just a different way of shooting and a lot of fun at the club.

Two boingers, mate. One I’ve recently put back together after a service and another I’ve swapped the optic around on. Both will need zeroing, I can’t have guns in the cabinet that aren’t zeroed, it does my OCD no favours at all. So as I’ll be using similar spec scopes on them, I’ll add the results on here for all who are interested.
    Best, Craig

My best mate had a C1 when we were young. I remember being in awe at the quick handling characteristics of it ( although I can’t mention the ‘targets’ we were shooting at...) I’ve always liked those rifles since.
A straight handed stock would be grand on a HW95/99 or similar.

Those Burris must be rare ? Never even heard of them, a picture or two would be nice.
