In search of an accurate rifles for range use ended up going for the 6mm Dasher which is traditionally formed by ‘blowing out’ the 6mm BR case, but in the process you loose some of the neck length that give the original BR case its accuracy. Norma now produce a Dasher case but with the original neck length - so that was the base of the build.

Action is the Ultimatum deadline which has a few nice features, short bolt throw and in this build no ejector as it is a single shot and I’m in no hurry

Barrel is a Benchmade from March Scopes UK, have used these on a few builds now and very pleased. Trigger tech trigger used ans set at around 1/2 pound. Stock is a Gunwerks carbon fibre Verdict and fully adjustable with a very neat ‘poop off’ cheek piece for easy cleaning. Scope is a March High Master 10-60 x 56 in March Uk rings. The integral rail on the action is 20moa.

In developing the load I tried for the first time the ‘10 round’ method which gave 2 nodes, further testing and I settled on the lower node which uses 32.4g of IMR 4166 under the Berger 105g Target hybrid and yields a MV of 2940fps out of my 27” barrel.

First trip out to 1000 yards a couple of weeks back was very pleasing, 1st round down the ‘very clean from storage’ barrel was low the rest in the V with a fish tailing wind only requiring aiming edge to edge of the bull - big grin time

The rifle is quite heavy and most definitely a range tool but does what I wanted, simple to load for, accurate and consistent and at the lower node not a barrel burner.
