Any idea how this sling stud works?

Got my new Zbroia Hortitsia yesterday. First impressions very good, waiting for the wind to die down before I can do some meaningful accuracy testing.

Thing is, this stud in the pics below was in the box. I've never seen one like it. It fits into the brass collar on the stock but doesn't lock in, it just falls out. I've tried twisting it in, pushing it in hard (oooer) pushing an small allen key through the centre in case the pin thing in the end needs to be pushed out.

Also, there's only the one collar and stud for the fore-end, presumably for a bipod? The instruction manual doesn't help.

Any ideas? Apart from bin it!

    Cheers

These balls are very slightly proud and the cone shaped centre bit is a bit loose

it looks like your QD is broken / missing bits as there should be a release button and like Murphy says above the BB's should be out

Inside there should a spring & a cone of either metal or plastic the spring pushes the cone up which forces the bearings out to engage in the socket, you could try penetrating oil in case it's a bit rusty or dirty inside.
I don't suppose there's a grub screw or circlip to disassemble it when you look in the hole in the bottom or do the two halfs unscrew ?

There is a cone but it doesn't move. I've tried using force as much as i dare in a vice. Could try WD40 I suppose. I did wonder if the cone is supposed to move.

Just a guess but is there a hex head grub screw down the middle that as you wind it in it pushes the cone in and the bearings out to form a tight fit??
