    Scopes for Pro-Sports ? ( old School types ).

What would be a good scope/mounts choice for the Pro-Sport that leans towards, or is more old school type. Not adverse to trying to find secondhand subject to condition.

Generally shooting at 10 to 25 metres, but would be nice if the scope was useful out to say 35 metres.

I do like the older style , smaller objective 20, 30, or 40 max, don’t want a huge zoom range, lower zoom out to say 9 ?

    Prefer crosshairs.

Something reasonably nice to complement the gun and will hold up to springer usage.

    Thanks for any recommendations .

Bushnell Trophy 3-9×40. Nice and light with a little more quality than a standard scope. Shouldn't obscure the loading port either.

Old school scopes seem not as readily available like they were a few years back. Not sure if people are keeping them or they are just dying off?
Most of the old scopes though are still very useable and can out perform later stuff

That’s the sort of size I fancy, are they good a closer ranges ?

Not much info on google , just two photos.

Do these come up often ?

I recently took off a Bushnell Legend 3-9x40 with a single piece mount, it worked well and didn't cover the loading port, I wanted to go over to mildots so I put a Nikko Stirling Panamax on in the end.

Far too many rifles to list now, all mainly British but the odd pesky foreigner has snuck in

That’s also a consideration I forgot about, not covering the loading port . The Bushnell Legend 3-9 x 40 sounds ideal .

Does the Panamax hinder the loading port , and add weight. ?

I suppose everything is a trade off .

Not bothered about big ranges and high mag.

    Just use smaller targets.

I have an AGS 3-12x44 Mini SWAT.
It is superb from 15 metres to 70 meters.
I've no idea what it would cost today b ut I would not part the two.

    Nikko Stirling Platinum

Very nice scopes. The zoom versions also come with PA. The 6 x 45 is clear from 8 yrds. Nice and desirable. The only scope to my knowledge to be marketed by 3 companies.
Nikko, Webley and Parker Hale. That tells you something. Mach 1.5

I've had a Bushnell Elite 3200 4-12x40 for years and it's been great. Recommended.

How do you find that at sub-25 yd?

I had a 4200 2.5-10 x 50 on my PS and whilst super scope, higher mags were out of focus at 25 yds, albeit not really necessary,

Moved to a 6500 4-16 x 44 which is superb and has PA down to 15 yds and usable to 10.
