They are great fun for plinking. What about silencers adaptors?

It's low powered and not too noisy anyway.

That 766 looks sweet, ratbuster2240. Enjoy!

I hope it's ok to post something a bit unrelated in your thread.

Last weekend I took 7 airguns to my parents' garden for dialing in. Pcp's, a Meteor and... a Crosman 180.
Although the BSA Techstar and Ultra were the best performers, the 180 put the biggest smile on my face.

Time and again, this little work of art impresses me. Beer can bottoms at 29 meters were easy.
A piece of American history that I will probably take with me on holidays to France over all my other guns.

So James, you'd better find a 180, in case you ain't got one yet!

Thank you for contributing these little gems. What a clean and complete little 180 that is. I will keep a look out for one at the shows etc. I find it hard to resist dinky little carbines. The BSA's have great accuracy, even my lightning puts pellet on pellet when resting on a cushion, but as you say there's something about Crosman's that are enjoyable to own and shoot.

The 766 pumps and holds air, but I thought I'd just replace the pump cup seal. What a difference it made, these seals may look okay but as they age a lot of performance is lost.

The trigger pull is 7lb and I don't feel a need to attempt lightening it for a garden plinker.

Your machining skills are very good Ped, I wish I could make stuff up to replace plastics items with brass and ally.

MartynB, I'm pleased you get enjoyment out of these post too. I like seeing all types of airgun designs, how they function and where they can be improved.

Really interesting to see examples of yesteryear guns that have been bought back to life, some very clever people on here

I picked up this Crosman Magnum 2200A from auction very cheaply. It's in good condition and came with a slip which was a surprise. It holds air, but this one definitely needs a new pump cup seal, I can feel it's hardened and not forcing air into the valve as well as it should.

Not quite the pair of Purdey's or Holland & Holland I hoped for in life, but in my opinion more fun.

The first variant had a chrome reciever i get confused with the models and when they came out. There's the model 1 too which is nice.
If you have one Ped I may need a silencer adaptor for the 2200.
