It had not even occurred to me that there could be a law. Why do you ask?

I'm pretty sure the law is JFDI. If it's a commercial vehicle then you need to display a green lozenge sign saying compressed gas on board (other than you ) but it's not mandatory for private vehicles. Obviously (I hope!) you should make sure it's safely secured.

A Firearm enquiry officer once suggested it could invalidate my motor insurance...

Divers transport them all the time, as do the couriers and delivery drivers delivering them with other items - at no point does anyone's private vehicle or a delivery vehicle which may carry these as part of it's consignment have to legally display a sticker - it's different for commercial use and obviously for vehicles specifically delivering such items in bulk, but rest easy on this one or we would all have been booked already.

Never really thought about this, but some research is now required.... what piggy589 mentioned about maybe invalidating insurance is a good point....defunately some food for thought for me at least.

There is a compressed air hazard sign, that might be more meaningful than a generic compressed gas sign.

There is no law, no rules, the insurance can't tell you what you can or can't carry,
If you're covered for social, domestic & pleasure as long as you don't shoot for business/payment you're covered.
