    J. S. Ramsbottom Old Price List

Just been having an old bedroom clear out at my Mum's. I found an old price list from our sponsor. At the time of the list I used to buy all my new rifles from them and enjoy travelling down to Keighley to pick them up. Would anyone care to guess which year the list is dated, below are a few price examples

    ASI Paratrooper .22 - £38.90
    Air Logic Genesis .22 - £410.00
    Anschutz 335 - £102.50
    BSA Airsporter S - £108.80
Feinwerkbau Sport Deluxe MkII (Walnut) - £139.50
    Original 45 .22 - £76.80
    Sharp Innova - £79.00
    Sharp Ace - £142.50
    Webley Omega - £98.50
    Weihrauch (Hull Cartridge) HW80 - £105.90, HW77K - £113.90,

    Pellets (.22), Collect or with Gun: Eley Wasp - £2.00/500, RWS Superdome - £2.55/500, H&N Match - £3.40/500

Shooting Air Rifles is like being a pubic hair on a toilet seat.
Eventually someone comes a long and P's you off.
    They usually have a PCP

    Cough --- the HW80 and HW77 weren't made until the 1980s.

    If not 88, then 89 or 90.

If I remember well, I paid 93 pounds at Ramsbottom for a new Hw80 when I was in the UK. I think it was 1983. I do remember it came by Mail order and the stamp had a picture of a target shooter on it which I kept . Nice touch😉
    Happy days.

I bough my HW80 from JSR for £88 - that was 1985/6 IIRC

And look at the price of the airsporter - same as an 80 - no wonder BSA didn't compete !
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.

    1987

    Guessing around 1987?
Those were the happy days of being able to order a rifle and getting it posted to your home no fuss! Many a good bargain from Ramsbottoms.
And airgunning was going throo so much development around the 80's, pity BSA and WEBLEY did'nt keep up with what the German manufacturers were developing, loved my mercury S, and Webley Omega , but price wise and quality, especially trigger quality we were far behind.
Last great deal from ramsbottoms before guns couldn't be posted was a special order BSA LIGHTNING in .25 calibre.
Nice to see that still going strong
