Return the shooting licence for vermin to Defra

In case readers have not seen this link from the Countryside Alliance, it relates to the return of the licence to Defra from Natural England, the latter having made an absolute mess of the system.

Does the same argument apply for Scotland?

Here Nature Scotland (Scottish Natural Heritage) rule that particular roost!

Better if there is a unified approach; nature knows nothing about political boundaries!

Maybe Wales and NI should be considered too!

I will write to my MP separately anyway!

    Best wishes

You would advocate the return of a licencing system to DEFRA which they were operating not in accordance with the law I guess you liked not being held to work within the law but make no mistake, if DEFRA are successful (which I doubt) then they will be applying the law with scrupulous attention and it will be massive jobsworth to avoid the possibility of the legal challenge being repeated. Do you really want this?

Thanks everyone; this request seems to have fallen on fertile ground!

Turnup, I have been guided by the Countryside Alliance. They, presumably, have taken your points into consideration and if they recommend a course of action, that is good enough for me.

MartynB, I do not know but expect the BASC to be onside as these organisations liaise with each other.
