This rifle has me baffled? What is it?

No markings, except serial number? Quality wood.

    Hi Flint,

I think it a is a FLZ original V break action with side lever breech lock,

I see the serial No is 375,if you look in Danny Garvin's gallery you can see mine which is serial 481.

I think these are quite rare, very well made with deep blue finish and very good power.

481 has a brass FLZ medallion inlet into the left side of the stock which is not on the example shown in your post.

All in all a very nice rifle,

    ATB,

    Chris

    If that is original blueing...wow.

You nailed it! I was floating all round the Gallery. Lol. This is the only forum where a question like this can be answered in a hour.

I looked at that one - the front sight seems non-original, rear sight blade is a replacement, and it's strange that there are no FLZ or Original stampings. Makes a person wonder whether some parts have been refinished?

I think you got it pegged. What’s was he thinking with that rear sight.

I agree,I really like the looks of antique quarter stocked springers.I wonder if a new one were to appear on the market today whether it would sell or not?
