    Muscle powered league

Hi, do SSP’s count as muscle powered? How can I get involved in the league, what size targets at what range? I know questions, questions, questions 😉

    Sgibbar,

    Yes you can use SSPs

    More information is here :

    http://www.airgunbbs.com/showthread....al-Competition

    MPL rules :

    http://www.airgunbbs.com/showthread....petition-Rules

The competitions are shot at six (6) yards, using the NSRA Air 7 (Pistol) & Air 8 (Rifle) targets.

Six (6) cards are shot monthly, for six (6) months for each competition you have entered, and the results are sent to me.

How you shoot these cards, and when you send the results is up to you.

Have fun & a good weekend

    Best regards

    Russ

Nice to see an entry from Taunton - an area has had a strong 6 yard shooting tradition in the past.

Many years ago Taunton AWC had a strong membership and in the 1970's, (as members of the Exmouth Air Rifle and Pistol Club) we enjoyed shooting against them in both the NARPA postal competitions and in live "shoulder to shoulder" competitions home and away.

Let's hope we can see a local revival as there must be a lot of people living in the area that can still remember those happy days of shooting airguns at 6 yards in a well supported Somerset club.
Rossendale Target Shooting Club. Every Tuesday and Thursday evening 7 - 10pm.

Largest amount of short range air pistol shooting is now the Pony Club, they hold triathlon events all winter (run, swim, shoot) shooting is at 7m against a race track target, they start at 7-8 yrs old with two hands and then move up to one handed at 13yrs.
Pistols range from gamo through to top end Steyr lp10 compacts. FAS 604 is still very popular due to length, weight, balance, ease of maintenance, also juniors are allowed a loader.
There are a number who like the pistol shooting enough to move on into 10m, there are a large number of pony club shooters who have moved up to British pistol club.
Postal comps are the best way forward, maybe even digital scoring but getting them in and finding the fun is still the best way.
