I'm not sure they actually called them a carbine as the webley barrel was only 15 inch and the walther 13 inch so both are carbine length already. The later Tommies also had a lower checkpiece stock wise.Mach 1.5

I also have the feeling walnut stock diameters vary as well. The pistolgrip from my older (2001) Tommy feels thicker than the grip of my 2003/4 walnut Tommys.
Havent noticed different in cheekpiece. But all mine are 15" (LW and Webley barrel). (well I thínk the shrouded one is 15"dunno cause cant see)

Chris Thrale’s book mentions a December 2002 retail price list that referred to both the 15” rifles and the 13” “Carbines” at a higher price.
Books sometimes get it wrong. No where in webley literature is the Tommy with LW 13 inch barrel description a carbine. He also mentions in the book the venom sidewinder compact came out in 2001...page 176...yet on page 174 the longbow which its based on came out in 2002!!! . So the custom version came out before the production version.. !!!Sorry. Mach 1.5

The longbow wasn't introduced to the public until Feb 2003. Anyway. Great rifles and still the best webley produced. Find one, buy one, Forget all the walnut stock and it must be .177. See one get it. Yep it might need a lube but still one of the best liteweight springers of all time. Mach 1.5

Best is to have (had) both. Had a lovely beech stock. Unfortunately it cracked. Was still under guarantee but got a very boring one back, so replaced with personally choosen piece of walnut. Other one already was walnut. Have both calibers too.

There is a .177 coming up for auction at Ryedale auctioneers, estimate 70-100 pounds.
The snag is it's fac.
Just beat me to it -- estimate now £120-£150 plus 27.6% buyers premium (Lot 460) www.ryedaleauctioneers.com sale 16 August 2020.
Couple on gunstar for sale but expensive for a std one. Mach 1.5
