    Kral air rifles

Hi I’m returning to the sport after many years and visited my local shop to have a look around and ask advice about buying a gun around £400-500 to start me off. Main suggestion was a Kral has does any one own or owned one. What they like or any suggestions thanks

Probably best to do a search om here for kral or puncher and read a few threads.

But after some minor niggles I really like my NP-02. I have a few PCPs and this is as accurate as any of them.
    Daystate Air Ranger FAC - Kral Bullpup & NP03 - CZ 452 .22lr - Lithgow 17hmr - Remington 783 .223 - Franchi 612vs 12G - Renato Gamba 12G O/U - Hatsan Escort 12G
Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.....

Theres nothing wrong with my KRAL NP-02. Read the article in this months Airgun Shooter in which I have witnesses seeing me shooting Polo mints @ 47 yards outdoors in the wind on a regular basis with a .22 NP-02.

KRAL v Rapid? You could buy two brand new KRALS (one in each cal) for the price of a s/h Rapid (approx). True the Rapid is better built but twice as accurate?

I have been trialling a kral np02 against a brocock bantam hr sniper costing three times what the np02 does for about five months now. The end result being whichever came out on top will be my new tool for night work.
So far the kral is winning hands down on everything bar two annoying niggles.
First one being the extremely rattly magazine, it's really loud both in and out of the rifle, pellets making a right din when you move the rifle to the shoulder etc.
Second is the very loud resonance coming from the cocking spring on firing.
Other than those two gripes it's awesome for the money. I am already choosing to pick it up in preference to my long time work gun, the BSA ultra se.
I'm pretty much decided that the bantam will be up for sale soon, it's a great rifle, but the kral beats it so there it is.

I guess the only reason you shot the Polos, is that if you miss, you could say you got a bullseye

Ian, did someone do some work on yours to smooth it out a bit (I was thinking regarding Jamie's comments on hammer spring noise, which I know I suffered with on my early Puncher)

They did indeed - but that was my .177 version. Mr Dave Mercer [ looks to the north and bows ] DM80 on here, did a bit of fettling on my .177 version which made the rifle easier to cock and quieter. Maybe worth while giving Dave a PM on here as he is VERY busy.

One slight niggle with both my KRALs is a slight leak. Nothing serious but Ive had similar very slow leaks on brand new rifles costing four times as much.

Re Polos. I did try to explain I went through the hole but my fellow shooters are no suckers.

In my case I HAD to buy two krals, both from brand new and it was a horror story with both.
First was dangerously inaccurate with a crown cut off centre to the bore and not square to the court and of the barrel. Wouldn't hit a 3 foot square from 12 (ish) yards in.25 cal
Second one was replacement for first one and accurate until it leaked air from every joint...after 2 weeks. In. 22 cal.

My advice is go for artemis if you want value. I have p10 and a p15 and they're awesome.

I also have rapids, daystate and HW80, having owned many other guns.

The Kral was a real shame for me but two shockers, both from brand new..... I won't go there again. Bit like BSA, really.
