    Airgun Registration?

    Hi guys.

There's a strong rumour going around that there will be an airgun registration process here In the UK as there Is In Scotland sometime In the near future. And I was just wondering how this would work. Would It be a case of just filling In a form to let the relevant authority know what airguns a person owns, or would It be like an FAC where you need witnesses for ownership?

    Thoughts please lads

Well, if it's anything like the Scottish AWL then it won't really work! But will that stop them???

There are also rumours that the next phase of restrictions will also affect section one Shotguns and High capacity .22 semi-autos. To avoid having to pay compensation the rumours say they'll just reclassify the Section 1 shotguns and hi cap .22 semi autos along the lines of the Brocock air pistols. ie. not ban them outright but not allow you to sell them on so they will die out slowly, as the certificate holders die off.

Cannot see airgun registration ever happening. The police cannot cope with investigating every crime now, let alone hand them an extra massive administrative job involving millions of detailed records, and to what advantage ?

That's what Police Scotland said and it still happened up here

If you have a Justice Minster like we had here at the time and he said its going to happen no matter what anyone else says then it will happen as it did here .

However, the Association of Scottish Police Superintendents (ASPS) has now asked the Scottish Government to reconsider the plan to license all air guns north of the border, partly because there are so many in Scotland that the additional cost and burden on police would be considerable at a time of shrinking budgets. They also point out most owners are law abiding.

Think you could be right, we are heading for the future planned total rule where the population has to be completely disarmed and controlled by every instruction given by the authorities, as we see happening worldwide at present through the pandemic. No dissension permitted, China is quite advanced in this.

There's been a rumour for years, the police don't want it because it's more trouble than it's worth.

It only happened in Scotland because the SNP turned the killing of a child in to a political vote grabber, shame people didn't see through it.

He listened to no one and did what he wanted .

No need to license, the law is already there to deal with the nutters, but not severe enough.......

There is little to be gained by registration unless you hate airguns. Committing murder, mayhem and revolution with airguns would only be successful against evil overlord rabbits (and then only up to 40 yards).
