I have two scopes to choose from for a air arms s400 k, just need help what’s the better scope

    Tasco var 2.5 x 10 42
    Hawke air max 3 x 9 50

Just for general plinking and the odd bit pest control

Just finished a review on the Hawke Airmax 2-7x32, very nice scope, really like the AMX reticule.
I'm a real convert to the smaller objective lens, anything that can go in a medium mount.
Is that an old Airmax as can't see that size in current line-up?

Hi there I think it is an older one but it’s good nick tbh

I got a Nikon prostaff 2-7x32 on a Wembley Vulcan, I’m in favour of those little scopes as well

Quite fancy trying the Nikon myself, Uttings have the 3-9x40 on offer at the moment.

I think the Tasco has been discontinued also. Here is a a review on the Varmint from here a few years ago.

The Hawke Airmax's are cracking scopes, even the older models.

I'd go with the Hawke personally. Got a couple of their scopes myself.

Use which ever gives YOUR eye the best picture, if equal use the one with adjustable focus, if both/neither are adjustable toss a coin.

Nikon has decided to exit the rifle scope business. I have 5 Nikons and they are all very good scopes. I for one will miss Nikon and only hope that they honor their warranty if needed. Nikon CS has been outstanding whenever I had to contact them. FWIW
