True, but what did a pre war BSA Underlever cost in terms of a weekly salary against a 70's Meteor?.

Being subjective, which is more accurate, powerful and consistent, I'd suggest it might be the Meteor?

A poor comparison?,a flagship and a much later pressed steel junior rifle.
    Cadets maybe fairer.

That looks like an early Meteor Super Peter.

    What's the SN prefix?

    Kind regards,

Hmmm, not sure I'd agree. Both mass produced and intended for the working man. True, manufacturing techniques differ but intended use is near enough the same.

Both classics in their own right too.

The 70s Meteors and airsporters make me shudder. Silly to say this as it is the key to volume production, but they are just cheap, with that silly stock. Mind you, being cheap did not save BSA in the end.

Not had chance to look yet, but the wood looks better than the standard yellow bland of the era,

We have been putting together social distance table plans covering two floors and 6 outside tradeing positions with one-way systems, hand sanitisers, signage, 2M queue markers and we are even donating facemasks going on sale with all the proceeds going to Macmillan Cancer Nurses, along with my Charity table. You may even find a nice Meteor there
It goes without saying, people will not be allowed in groups of 7, not that we ever have any.
The Venue owners have even held the massive outdoor area for us, just in case the rules change back. At the moment we tick all the Covid 19 boxes
