    Silhouette Targets

EDIT. Ok. This is a bit mental.

I am thinking of making my own metal silhouette targets as USA, Spain and Mexico seem to be only sources of supply unless you look at China which looked ropwy tbh. Initially for air rifle to begin with

Anyone intested. The more that are, I imagine will help reduce cost.

No idea of cost yet but as I said, just to guage level of possible interest.

I think this ia both a great target sport and ... if standing, a huge teacher and confidence builder if you do it right.

    But overall, just great fun.

Note. I am getting email notification that my inbox is full. It is not. Please dont PM me. Email to si62@hotmaile.co.uk please

    Metallic Silhouettes

I caught the silhouette bug back in 1988 when I got hold of the Gun Digest Book of Silhouette Shooting. Derek Peckover duly made me some air rifle sized banks of 5 targets, which saw much use over the years. In time, I decided that larger sized silhouettes would make great targets for air pistols provided weight could be kept down. Eventually, Nockover Targets set up a laser cutting program based on the .22 sized target outlines contained in the above book. Four banks of 5 targets are still in use at Rochford Air Gun Club. If range permitted, this size of target could be set out at greatly extended distances for air rifles. They’re also good fun with open sighted rifles. Might be worth checking with the current owner of Nockover Targets to see if my laser cutting program still exists.

Just a thought, have you tried any of the usual EU gun shops ?
I know some of them sell Biathlon type targets, so they might also do these given how popular target shooting is in Europe.

Would love to get some for our club.

Do the Spanish ones include the metal racks? I’m guessing not.

The Spanish ones are everything you need. Simply bolt together, put pegs through the feet into the ground and shoot at them. So if by racks do you mean the mechanism they stand on, then yes.

    They're stainless as well.

    Tried phoning Nockover Targets?

    http://www.nockover-targets.co.uk/contact.html

That's where our club got our set from. Not advertised on the website, but I think they do them as special order.

I got a set a couple of years ago from the states, official NRA airgun, just one set of each animal, but they included a few spares, cost was about £110.00 landed on my doorstep if I remember correctly. I think this is the company that list on Amazon but just checking and they seem currently unavailable.
