What range to zero scope

I generally zero at 35yds and shoot from 30 to 100yds.

We shoot HFT to 55yds (SWEFTA rules) and most people zero at 27yds. This is so all targets can be taken either dead on or with hold over - no need to hold under on any target from 10 to 55yds.

I sight all my air rifles in at 25yrds on indoor range, no wind variables.

I zero all of mine at which ever distance gives the highest point in the pellet's flight path (mostly seems to be jut under 30 yards but varies slightly) so I only have to hold over if shooting at a variety of distances rather than just 1 specific distance for bench rest etc

Depends on how far you normally shoot, I usually zero at about 25 yards as I tend to only shoot rats.
Once you set your zero at what ever distance you want, practice what mill dot you would need at closer or further distances, and take note.

Such a personal preference. For myself I like a 40yard zero. That gives me a first zero of 15yards. I particularly like this with .177 Sniper Lights 7.5grains 10.8 ft lbs.
Between 15-40 I under aim one mark on my SR6 reticule which is nice and easy. Less hold over at longer ranges.
