BSA LIGHTNING .25 ca. TRANSFER PORT RESTRICTOR

Hi chaps. Any one had any luck removing the little ball bearing cover from the transfer port restrictor on a .25 BSA Lightning as mine requires adjusting down to lower the power on it. "going a bit "hot" with some pellets. It looks like it is bonded in with some thread lock ? or are they pressed in with the metal cylinder heated slightly at the factory.
From my thinking the ball bearing is a security plug to cover the small Allen Grubb screw. Don't really want to interfere with the spring set up as it shoots really smoothly and consistent It appears to have a standard Piston & does not have any extra weights fitted.

might be easier to back off the mainspring a bit... would probably shoot better that way too...
Always looking for any cheap, interesting, knackered "project" guns. Thanks, JB.

I thought it was a grub screw they used?

My Supersport .25 certainly has a grubscrew adjuster, no idea about the lightning.

It does sound like a later model factory set and fitted with anti tamper.
I've had two .22 Birmingham Supersports new,and both were over.
Both had piston weights fitted, export mix up perhaps?.
