Hi John, that's a nice Westley Richards highest possible at a very fair price. good luck with the sale.
For sale: a 1907 Patent Highest Possible Air Pistol by Westley Richards.
This was the first mass produced quality air pistol that was capable of grouping pellets in the same place and this British classic is now over 100 years old. This example is an early'ish variant with horn rather than the slightly more common vulcanite grips. The WR logo can be seen at the top of each grip. The finish is evenly worn throughout and all factory stampings remain clear and visible.
The sight is adjustable and at least one of the sight screws looks like a later replacement. This is the .177 pistol that was tested in the August 2020 issue of Airgun World, where I recorded an average velocity of 449 FPS with Excite flathead pellets. The pistol is smooth to cock and as can be seen is capable of velocities higher than most spring air pistols including the classic Webley. It complements a contemporary BSA very well in terms of performance.
I have linked pics below and am asking £685 posted by RMSD. NOW SOLD
