Most people dont realise that the main advantage of multi barrel chain guns, mini guns etc what ever you want to call them is there completely operate don an electric motor. It fires, ejects and turns the barrell.
So if a round doesnt go off it wont jam the gun like on a normal weapon because the extractor simply picks it up and throws it out.

And if you wondered just how fast those barrells turn, the next round is FIRED before its barrell is lined up with the chamber and it just makes it there by thousands of a second!!

Yeah, that and if you attempted a similarly ludicrous rate of fire with a single barrelled weapon it would melt pretty quickly
