I'm hopeful someone can point me in the right direction. I'm sure I've seen a recent photo of a mk1 stock that had been refinished for a custom job (either through a shop or an individual). Chequering at the fore end and a fitted pistol grip cap, but I'm blowed if I can refind the image.
