    Harrington Gat

A friend of mine was asking what he should pay for a mint boxed gat with all the darts and gubbins that they came with. His pal had offered him it at £100, is this a fair price??

About double what it's worth. £60 would be tops. They are quite common.

Protek supplies have only just sold an absolutely mint complete kit for £65. It is still listed on their site,. Bear in mind they are dealers.

If yours was tatty, you should have snatched his hand off at £60

I agree with WebleyWombler on this one - provided we are talking about the common modern Gat. If it had been a very early one (with no cork-firing adapter) in its green box, and in near-mint condition, then it could make £100.

Agree with others. £50. Even that feels a lot to me for something that was worth almost nothing when new not that long ago.

Assuming it’s the usual 1980s/90s Gat. The one with the safety catch.

Thanks fellas, I have relayed you advice back to my pal and he has now moved on to looking at a 10g wildfowling piece, the gat is no longer being considered! Bit of a swing from popgun to blunderbus!!
