    Question Info regarding Original 66.

On behalf of a friend who has purchased an Original 66, .177" calibre, 10 metre target rifle, what information can you give me?

I would be interested in it's history, performance, availability of spares or just about anything you know about it.

    Thanks in advance.

Don't know why Rustam. Shame. I've asked Geordie to forward the AGW article to you, assuming he gets it! Cheers. Wynn

If you look between the top of the stock and the scope/peep sight rail on the l/h side you may find, in very small numbers, the month and year of manufacture.

Thanks, Ian. I believe that's a Diana/Original custom. One still finds this on Diana 52s.

Hi Rustam. This date of manufacture stamping is on most Originals since the mid 1960's (I cant remember the EXACT year - maybe someone will provide this info) and, I.M.O. is a good idea but maybe better under the stock.
Prior to date stamping they had 'Made In Germany West' or 'Made In Germany'.
I shall go and put my anorak away now.

Would you know who carries spares for this model?

Maybe Chambers . Failing that contact DM80 who, as well as being an excellent gusmith, is a mine of information. I know he has obtained and worked on a few Original pistols.

Interesting, last night a guy asked me to service an Original 50 I think that's what it is, it's aprox 30 years old and apparantly in good condition but low on power.
