    Frank Burridge Hunter ?

Following on from 45Flint regarding carving on airgun stocks.
Does anyone remember the Frank Burridge hunter (probably the wrong name) with carved bunny squirrel or some other type of airgun quarry carved into the stock??. The name and carving seemed to wring a bell.
It would have been in the 80s.
    Regards,Les old and confused ldgrin.

    Hiya.
The model designation rings a bell but I cannot recall the stock carving.
I do recall the Rod Lynton specials ( were they special field and special target)? These had a carving of quarry on one side of the stock. They were based on the HW80 not that long after they were introduced.
In all the years I've only seen one in the flesh.

    Hi Dave
I think you are right regarding Rod Lynton doing the carving thing.
I vaguely remember a Webley Vulcan being done as well. The Frank Burridge name might not be related?.
I will have to look through some of my early AGW magazines.
I am glad I am not the only one who remember’s.

I remember the stocks Rod offered on Vulcans HW's etc. I seem to remember there wasn't much carving, more of an applied picture with an acrylic type material he called stippling. I had a stock for an Original 45 refinished with the strange applied stipple coating to the pistol grip. He also (or rather his stockmaker) shaped the pistol grip for a right hander and fitted a small palm shelf. I bumped into him at an FT shoot later in the year and quizzed him
"how did you know I was right handed?"
