Once in a lifetime, sell the wife

I know we don’t generally approve of heads ups on auctions, but I’m going to guess none of us are in the market to bid on these

But imagine the bragging rights if you were !

I learnt quite a while ago to assume nothing about an individuals wealth.

    Appearances can be deceiving .

Although sadly not in my case

Very true. There used to be - when I went to the pub pre CV19 - an old bloke sat in the corner most days, looked like an old style tramp. Saw him a few weeks back, doing some shopping, in a newish top of the range Jag.
In nearby Ledbury there's a little old woman, most people assume she's a 'bag lady', & some staff don't like having her in their shop. She is actually very well off, just prefers people not to know.

Oh no! This thread has blown my plan to get an auction bargain 'below the radar'.

I wonder if 'repeating' in this case meant, without recharging rather than bringing another round into battery...

It is interesting how the description of the guns has changed. As Harvey_s says, they seem to have evolved into “repeating pistols”, which they aren’t, and they also have “a detachable pommel-cap to allow access to the pump”, rather than “for the pump”, suggesting a concealed pump in the stock, which is of course nonsense.
Still, I suppose anyone prepared to invest £20 k in a pair of guns is going to know a lot more about them than the average punter.

It also seems odd to me that a pair of guns like this do not have a case. They must have originally come very handsomely cased, with matching pump, tools, bullet mould and other accessories, so I wonder why the set was broiken up?
