    Steve Pope

Steve was just an incredible chap, who inspired me. Words cannot convey how much we will miss him. It’s the end of an era which is also incredibly sad. My thoughts are with his wife, children, family and friends at such a difficult time.

He will live on, through all of us Airgun shooters and Collectors, as he certainly shaped the last 35 years for us. Now that’s an accolade that few will achieve. He was the master.

    Rest in peace Steve.

    David

In the world of Air Rifles he was a craftsman, engineer, and innovator. His influence can be seen in many modern rifles, and he leaves some very fine examples of his trade that give such great joy.
I think his biggest contribution was to help air rifle design get some momentum again, when in the late 1970's and early 1980's it was becalmed by lack of inspiration. He was part of a small group that energised this gun making sector to what it is now. Something so many of us enjoy so much and that might have never have got on so fast without such people as Steve Pope.

By all accounts he was a gent too.

RIP, sad news indeed, my condolences to his family. His work lives on.
