A good looking £250 gun,mine is o.k but they are not in the same league as a £450 gun,complete trigger mech @ £20 is a tell as to quality

I had a springer one, shot ok from the box little to no twang. Was able to mod the trigger by adding a screw to reduce sear engagement which made it fairly good. Again they are not a true two stage unit. Mine was accurate with ftt. Would I buy another, not really, a HW99, Diana 280 is a better bet for the money.

Possibly the worse rifle on the market for the price, better guns at half the price shoots like a pig.

Hated mine. My walther Terrus and Hw80 are FAR better.
The lightning was boingy, twangy and horrible.

Years ago I bought a Lightning XL in 0.177 - I guess not that long after they first came out. Lovely looking gun, but whilst my son could get it to shoot reasonably accurately, the trigger was crap, and it was very "rough" to shoot. It also had to go back for a warranty repair for a spring or guide breakage I think. The .22 may be better (smoother) to shoot as they don't need such a strong spring, but I would never buy another. If you search back over old threads you will probably come to the conclusion that as a .177 they are better with the power set to no more than about 10 or 10.5 ft lbs.
Another lesson I learnt with that gun was to take favourable reviews on the internet (for at least new guns) with a pinch of salt!

The original Lightening i like a lot, not at all keen on the new models. For my money it would be the HW99.
