    HW35 piston seal.

Evening all just wondering if anyone has an idea please in what year Weihrauch changed from a leather piston seal to a synthetic one in HW35’s.
    Cheers

Thanks guys I’ve just picked up a lovely HW35E her serial number is 727160 and I dated her to 1979.
So she will have the leather washer and probably a 4mm transfer port then. Not had a chance to strip her down yet for a fettle as only got her yesterday.
    Stay safe
    Cheers

Some of the late leather sealed guns have small ports. I have a 1977 and a 1980 made 35, both with leather seals and ports at ca 3mm.

Yes Evert, I've had the same with late 1970s 35 cylinders having a sub 3 mm transfer port, you can fit the longer stroked synthetic sealed piston to these to update them to the current HW35 spec.

Thanks I’ll check tomorrow I was thinking of buying a new type piston with seal to put in her.
Also was tempted by Mach 1.5 and bought a chromed piston out of a Vixen. Seem to be a heavier piston with a reduced diameter due to a thick steel piston sleeve. Lots of things to try to help alleviate lockdown boredom.

The vixen also ran a thinner gauge spring with the heavy piston liner , the T.P were altered to match with various sizes.
