With lockdown, & other issues, been stuck at home for a while.
Been doing more plinking in the back garden. Latest testing was being done with the Hurricane & Tempest in .177, using 'Excite 2 econs'. Mentioned on another thread. Was pleased. Also been concentrating on follow thru, consistent grip etc.
Anyway, was doing sorting in the boxroom, round a rusty tin of .177 Gecos. I bought them for my CO2 pellet revolvers, which only get used in Summer. Rusted shut, turned the tin upside down, gave it a spray with GT-85. Left it for a coupla days, & it opened. Pellets were fine.
Out with the Tempest for 10 shots at 6m - might as well have thrown the pellets. Then I thought - why is the Webley smoking like a '60's Routemaster?
Tip out the pellets onto a piece of kitchen towel & roll them around - much GT-85 in evidence. Let them dry, Tempest stops smoking, groups better.

DOH!
