I'd say a series 5 made between 1961-4.
Any other info to help, scope rail, calibre, etc?

Webley Mk3 x2, Falcon & Junior rifles, HW35x2, AirSporter x2, Gold Star, Meteors x2, Diana 25. SMK B19, Webley Senior, Premier, Hurricane x 2, Tempest, Dan Wesson 8", Crosman 3576, Legends PO8.
Thanks for you help much appreciated. It is a .22 cal in I would say good condition for age, no rust and works well, and yes it has a scope rail. This was given to be recently it has a Weaver B4 scope fitted and it is helping me to get through lock down.
Hi, Peter
My info came from the Christopher Thrale book, Webley Air Rifles 1925-2005. A really interesting read. The S5 was introduced in Sept 1961
According to this the earliest known series 5 was s.no. 41752, the highest 47068, made in July 1965.
There were a couple of changes made.
The dumbbell shaped scope rail was changed to a parallel sided one & the serrations removed from the tap loading lever late in the run.
Loverly guns. I've got a late '50's & an early '70's one.
Enjoy!
Bru
PS Word of warning re scope - early rails were spot welded, & over tightening could cause them to lift off the cylinder!

Great information. Thanks again.

Just to add. We have 45167 bought new 1965. Thrale also says 44370-44459 made w/e 7/11/64 to give an idea of production rate which seems to vary from 50 to 100 a week.
