    Repair to older Walther rifle

and I MEAN older. This lovely old rifle, a Model LG55 has given me almost 35 years of sterling service and remained a joy to shoot right up the last 'phut'. Yup, the piston seal had gone.

I've lost the details of the man most likely to be able to repair it for me, Mr Amatruda. If anybody can advise me of it, or a craftsman of equal skill, I'd appreciate it.

With an almost 100% lockdown on gun-stores, I've lucky to have bought around thirty tins of pellets - half the store's stock - when I did. Shooting three or four airguns a day over the last few months has cut down my stock significantly, but bad weather often prevents me from shooting outdoors and I have no indoor facilities like some have in the form of a nice big double garage.

    TIA

Lovely soft handling rifles. Easy fix if you're up for it. Can help with photos if it helps. Dim but willing. J

If you want to try and tackle it yourself, there are seals available:

    Here's two seal/mount types found in 55's.
Late version may have the escutcheon plate type of fixing used on the LGV
All can be modified to take HW lip seal. Confess that, the left one of the pair, has a HW seal slipped over the existing washer as temporary fix. Still there!!
The LGV also now HW with modified adapter.
