Pcp dive bottle 232 or 300 bar?

    Afternoon all,

Can anyone tell me if I’d need a 300bar bottle to recharge my RM8 or could I get away with a 232? Been offered a 232 hence asking

    Cheers

Not really. It's cheap as no one wants them. 232 is fine if its a huge bottle say a 12ltr. If its a 3ltr there is no point imo as you'll probably have 1 full fill, and after that all the way to empty will be probably under what you want as a full fill and dropping all the time. At least with a bigger bottle you'll have a few more fills before it really starts dropping under 200 bar.
I made the stupid mistake of buying a 3ltr 300 bar and wish I bought a 7ltr. I get mine refilled at anything under 170bar.

300 bar pressure would be my preferred choice 3lt 5lt 7lt 10lt 12lt bottles ..depends where your shooting and if your going to be refilling your rifle alot

    Get a 300bar version

We just use the top of the pressure, so you will get from around 300bar down to about 180bar before you have to refill it, if you get a 232bar version you only get about 40% as many fills down to about 180bar regardless of size, it's just false economy, stick to 300bar

Don't get an aluminium bottle and try and avoid any bottle with a diving valve as testing is only 2.5 years.

Aluminium bottles require a special test and type a and b cannot be tested anymore.

Each time you top up the rifle the remaining pressure in the cylinder drops, how much it drops depends on the cyl size & rifle size/pressure.

If you only start with 232bar then it takes very few top ups before the cyl pressure is less than the rifle max so you can't get it full,
and by the time it's down to 150-160bar it needs refilling.
With a 300bar cyl you get far more usable air, in theory 68 x cyl size in litres.
