    HW97 Custom

Guys not posted loads on this section but thought share this in case any one has same idea.

So after regretting selling my full length 77 as just seemed to be nicer to shoot than a standard length. (just my opinion)

I looked for a full length 97 but not easy to come by and if do the barrel sticks out past the catch and looks silly I think.

So I began on creating one as I wanted.

Below is the result its a full length hw77 in. 177 with a 97 moderator fitted.
Then sent to Paul Short for state 4 tune tintaium piston, jeweled comp tube, set back custom trigger and safety catch.

If not enough picked up a tatty Warren Edwards stocks stripped and finally finished that and put all back together today.

Few shots in garage and it is very good, heavy but expect that and purely target gun so weight not an issue.

The stock is such a comfy fit I can see why serious shooters would pay top money for one. Luckily mine was very reasonable.

Getting 2p groups (of 20) at 30 yds

Just need get to the range now for some serious testing.

    Enjoy gents

Very nice. I love jewelling on those loading ports and I don't usually take to WE stocks but like that one.

That's a lovely looking rifle you built there,
Well worth the trouble you went to.
Time to enjoy it now! Martin

That looks a wonderful combination and has come out beautifully.
A pleasure to look at and to shoot.
    Cheers

Yes I'm really pleased with it.

The stock was an find but has been abused if guess by previous owner. Back to former glory now

I think I can honestly say this will definitely out shoot me

Looks fantastic. Was it easy to source the 97 mod unit and was it an easy retro-fit on the the 77?

I have the paul short stage 3 tune( blacked comp tube)and titanium piston in my 97 stumpy, it makes such a difference over standard, so fast to shoot but dead at the same time. I like the look of the set back trigger, I'd that a paul short job too? I can feel an email coming
    on!!

Paul did it at same time and sourcing the mod not easy as Chambers etc won't sell on its own.

Lovely work, it looks really good, but I hope those 2p groups at 20 yards were standing
