    HW55. Barrel swap

Have a spare HW55 Barrel and want to convert to .22 cal. Can members recommend someone who can do barrel conversions. I have a 16mm barrel would need turning down to fit the 55 breech block. Mach 1.5

That would be rather unique if you left the barrel at 16mm and just had it turned down to fit the breech block or is that your intention ?

Yep hoping to get the barrel turned down to fit. Of course Mr Pope was going to perform his magic but due to unfortunate circumstances I now must look elsewhere. Venom did them back in 1983 so just want to try one for old time sake. Mach 1.5

    Hi Paul,

Haven't you asked Shaun at ISP, he'd be my first choice ?

Ah, understand now, Paul. And Mick's recommendation would seem to be the perfect, natural answer.

While you're at it Paul, you could get Shaun to machine the piston to take a TX200 seal which gains about 5mm of stroke.

Just over the hour to Mike Norris at Whitchurch for you. Worth it for the banter and a drool. Try a phone call. Brock & Norris.

Great minds, Mick. This is a 55 piston we made up exactly as you describe.
I’m going to shove it into a 99 and see what happens.

Can I ask which seal you are using in the 26mm tube?

    Just what I thought, Evert.

It would be easier to try it in an Old School 25mm HW50.

I must get round to trying the HW50 piston that I machined for to take a TX seal, but from a few posts on here I need to make a 20 gram piston weight first.

Fun to finally be the "first" to do a modification but as indicated earlier, I havent given the old "longstroke" Hw50 the attention it deserves, it can probably be pushed further than I did. Looking forward to your results!!

Apologies both - I meant a HW30. Just been browsing a replacement 99, hence my mistake.
